Haitian Dinner Wednesday, November 14, 2018
Throughout this year, Chef Gregory Gourdet has brought Haitian cuisine to the U.S. on a totally different stage. Starting with our first Haitian Dinner in Portland where Gregory’s mom came to join him, followed by two Haitian Dinners at the James Beard House in New York City; Gregory was then invited back to Haiti to make a full circle, to cook Asian food at a Haitian food festival. This dinner will be one for the books. We are extremely excited to host another Haiti In My Heart Dinner, which is sure to be the next of many.
Chef Gregory Gourdet is teaming up with Elsy Dinvil on November 18th to highlight his Haitian heritage with a traditional ten-course meal hosted at Departure. This family-style dinner will highlight a few traditional Haitian dishes such as Griot Twice Cooked Pork, Fried Green Plantains, and many more. A portion of the proceeds from this dinner will go to the JA Clermont Foundation, a nonprofit center which supports homeless children in Jacmel, Haiti.
